Continuous Process Solutions unveils steel belt training to boost skills and protect production uptime

Continuous Process Solutions has launched a new steel belt training programme designed to help manufacturers strengthen in-house capability, reduce stoppages and improve the reliability of continuous process lines.

The programme is tailored for engineering, maintenance and production teams across food, chemical, wax, wood-based panel, pharmaceutical, rubber and other industries that rely on steel conveyor belts. It gives teams the practical knowledge needed to maintain, monitor and optimise steel belt systems and to spot early signs of wear or misalignment before they lead to costly breakdowns.

For managers, the training provides clear operational and financial benefits. By equipping staff to identify emerging issues and take preventative action, the programme reduces unplanned downtime, cuts reliance on emergency call outs and supports improved control of maintenance budgets. It also helps extend the life of belts and related equipment, protecting valuable capital assets and supporting smoother production flows.

Jarrod Hunt, Managing Director of Continuous Process Solutions, said: “Many production issues begin as small, unnoticed changes in belt condition or equipment performance. When teams understand what to look for and how to respond, they can prevent problems well before they interrupt production. Our training is designed to give managers confidence that their staff have the right skills to keep lines running efficiently, safely and consistently.”

Training content covers the fundamentals of steel belt types and selection, correct tracking and tensioning, effective cleaning systems, preventative maintenance techniques, inspection routines and integration with wider process operations. Sessions combine clear theoretical guidance with hands-on demonstrations, including belt inspection, cleaning procedures and tracking adjustments.

The programme is delivered flexibly to suit different team sizes and operational needs, with training available onsite. Participants also receive practical documentation to support ongoing maintenance routines and to help embed good practice into everyday operations.

Continuous Process Solutions has more than twenty years of experience supporting continuous process manufacturers across the UK and Ireland. The company provides steel belts, installation services, cleaning and tracking systems, maintenance support and industry specific guidance for sectors working with continuous production technologies.

New range of chromed steel belts launched for wood-based panel production

Continuous Process Solutions, the UK and Ireland’s sole agent for advanced steel belt technology from Mingke, has announced the launch of a new range of chromed steel belts designed to optimise the performance of double belt continuous press systems used across the wood industry.

Now available in the UK and Ireland exclusively through Continuous Process Solutions, the belts have been developed to withstand the toughest demands of continuous panel production. Acting as a “performance armour” for dual steel belt presses, the chrome-plated belts deliver exceptional durability, process stability and long-term cost savings.

Four core benefits set the belts apart:

  • Enhanced durability – The hard chrome coating forms an ultra-tough protective layer that resists friction, wear and fatigue damage, extending the lifespan of the belt even under extreme operational pressure.
  • Corrosion resistance – A dense protective film shields against rust, oxidation and chemical attack, safeguarding product quality and reducing contamination risks.
  • Smooth mould release – The mirror-smooth chrome surface minimises material adhesion, improving mould release and ensuring higher process efficiency in resin-impregnated and composite materials.
  • Thermal stability – Withstanding temperatures up to 400°C, the belts maintain performance in high-heat environments, reducing the risk of thermal degradation.

Together, these advantages ensure a stable, precise and efficient production process while helping manufacturers reduce downtime and extend operational cycles.

Jarrod Hunt, Managing Director of Continuous Process Solutions, said: “The wood industry relies on consistent, high-quality production to remain competitive. Chromed steel belts offer our customers a proven solution to extend belt life, improve efficiency and safeguard product quality. By bringing this technology exclusively to the UK and Irish market, we are helping manufacturers future-proof their operations and lower their long-term costs.”

Continuous Process Solutions continues to support the wood panel sector with advanced steel belt technologies and expert after-sales service, ensuring customers benefit from innovation, reliability and productivity. belt tracking essential, manufacturing expert warns

Food and chemical companies using conveyors without diligent belt tracking are running the risk of damage, increased costs, reduced safety and production downtime, an industry expert has warned.

Without positive belt tracking, conveyors can succumb to misalignment, leading to accelerated wear and tear, potential costly damage to the belt or operational halts, according to Jarrod Hunt, Managing Director of UK company Continuous Process Solutions.

Continuous Process Solutions offers two decades of experience and expertise with continuous process manufacturing equipment, including conveyor belt tracking and cleaning systems, servicing and parts, project management and consultancy. Jarrod said: “Across a range of industries, from manufacturing to food processing to pharmaceuticals, the operational rewards of effective belt tracking can be huge.

“Efficient belt tracking is not just about preventing malfunctions, but also extending the life of your belt and therefore protecting your initial investment. Properly aligned belts lead to higher efficiency, lower maintenance costs and increased safety. Our proven design has been safeguarding and protecting belt investments for the last decade.”

British designed, manufactured and built to CE specification, Continuous Process Solutions’ pneumatic belt tracking control and tensioning system is suitable for bake ovens, conveyors, coolers and other steel belt installations up to ≤2000 mm in width.

Jarrod continued: “Our system is unique due to the state-of-the-art belt positioning sensor is used to continuously detect the belt position in real time. The transducer provides a low input voltage signal to a state-of-the-art PLC, which in turn activates any required correction to the lateral position of the belt. Belt tension always remains applied by the system, even in the event of sudden loss of power or air supply, whilst maintaining belt tension through thermal expansion and retraction.

“A stable belt position allows full utilisation of the belt width, maximising production and reducing waste. Hazards are reduced, not only by stabilising the belt position throughout its conveyor, but also by preventing product being laid down on the band edge, reducing the risk of falling off and subsequently posing a fire risk.”

The company’s system provides reliable and high precision tracking to (+/-) 4 mm, under different environmental and running conditions. The displacement transducer is fully submersible, resistant to dirt and has no electrical contact across the transducer positioning element – meaning clean data, infinite resolution and a very long life.

Full ancillary equipment and technical support is also provided. For more information on belt tracking products, go to the Continuous Process Solutions website.
