Service and Sales Engineer

West Midlands/Shropshire office (with UK and worldwide travel as required)

Role overview:

We are seeking a motivated and practical Service and Sales Engineer to join our team. This role involves welding and installing solid steel conveyor belts at customer sites worldwide (no formal welding accreditation is required, as full training will be provided). The successful candidate will also support the day-to-day operations of the business and contribute to the sales of steel belts and associated machinery, equipment and services.

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out on-site welding, repairs, servicing and installation of solid steel belts in the UK and worldwide
• Provide technical support to customers, ensuring installations run smoothly
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of projects, including maintenance and repair services
• Support the sales and marketing team with customer enquiries, quotations, sales presentations and demonstrations of steel belts and associated machinery
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through professional service and support
• Contribute to the overall running of the business, including office and workshop tasks when not on-site
• Regular UK and worldwide travel to customer sites as required.

Requirements:

• Must be 25 years or older (for insurance purposes)
• Practical, hands-on approach – no welding accreditation is required, but previous welding, engineering or mechanical experience is advantageous
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on-site
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with customers
• Interest or experience in sales of technical products is desirable
• Full UK driving licence
• Valid passport and the right to work in the UK
• Must fulfil various international visa requirements, including for China and the USA.
